They are coming to a law office near you- Online Directory Sales People offering the "most trafficked legal website or attorney directory in the World."
In this article we will examine how to determine if advertising in an attorney directories is right for your law practice and how to determine the value of individual attorney directory. For legal purposes, "This is my opinion."
Are attorney directories right for your practice. The answer is well that depends. My rule of thumb is act glogally by thinking locally! The most trafficked atorney directory in my state is not Findlaw or Martindale or Lawyers.com. It is a state specific law website. This directory has, is and will always out rank "The Big Boys."
This directory is very cheap and gets great results! The listings are only $120 per year and you get 3 practice area listings. Each listing offers additional value since they will provide you with a direct link to your law firm web site and these links carry a very high link value of or near .20!
Basically, it is an outstanding attorney directory because a) it ranks very well, b) it offers links to your web site, and c) people use the diectory because it is easy, easy, easy. Easy to Find, Easy to Use, Easy to Contact an attoney.
The bottom line is: If your law firm has a web site, than there is value in paying for attorney listings as long as their attorney directory ranks well for related and geographical keyphrases, they link to your web site directly, and they are affordable.
What about the cost?
The "Big Boys" over populated and they charge a lot for listings and even more for premium placement within the top 3 or 5 listings. It's like my momma always said, "The slices of pie get smaller, the more slices you slice." No actually I just made that up.
But seriously, if there are 20 or more attorney listed on a page, what is the point?
Are premium listings worth it? NO!
Paying $300+ per month for a single premium listing is insane, when Pay-Per-Click or several cheaper attorney listings can go so much further and brand your law firm name more effectively!
