A few months ago it was OK for you to add a few non-related keywords in your Meta Keywords tag. This is not the case any more. The idea from unscrupulous search engine optimization companies was that you could add a few misspells to your web site's meta tags and attract visitors to your site. For example if someone accidentally misspelled attorney as "attornye," if you had this misspell in your meta data (not visible to viewer) your website would attract those hits.
Google's last update to it's search robot algorithm will penalize your web site if you put keywords into your Meta Keyword tag but left those keywords out of your content.
Because this concept has been widely used by some of the most popular and largest law firm search engine optimization companies, It is likely that your web site has been affected.
To determine if your website will be affected, visit your website, right click with mouse cursor over your web page content and select view source. In the first few lines you will see a "Meta Keywords" tag or list of keywords. Make sure that all the keywords in that list are within the content of your web page.
